![]() Course ScheduleThe course schedule provides quick access to the assignments, lessons, and review games but it is organized by date rather than by topic. Students use this frequently to see what they missed from an absence. | ![]() Discussion ExampleThis is an example of a graded discussion. Using an online discussion better allows for involvement of each student. Discussions work best for controversial topics such as the attendance policy discussed here. | ![]() Discussion GuidelinesClear expectations are established for students in discussion activities. This is important to ensure that students have a quality dialogue and stay on topic. |
![]() Lesson PlanThe first page in each module includes a lesson plan for the unit. The lesson plan includes objectives, lesson activities, notes, and assignments. | ![]() Assignments with optionsThis assignment allows students to choose how they want to share what they learned in our savings and investing unit. | ![]() RubricRubrics on Canvas make grading more consistent and efficient. It also helps the students to complete quality work because all expectations are clearly defined from the beginning. Free form notes can also be added by the instructor. |
![]() AnnouncementsThese alerts can be delivered to students as a text, e-mail, or message on Canvas. They provide reminders and help bring students to the Canvas website to access course material. | ![]() Quizlet Flashcards ReviewCanvas allows you to embed flashcards into lessons. Quizlet terms can also be reviewed as a matching game or test. | ![]() Jeopardy Review GameThis is a game we would play in class before an exam. The link for the game can be posted on Canvas so students can play it on their own if they were absent or need further review. |
![]() TestTests completed on Canvas allow for instant feedback on correct and incorrect answers. Question analytics also help the instructor to modify instruction to meet students needs. | ![]() GradesStudents can easily see how they are doing in the class by accessing the grades screen. |
