Teaching with Technology
About me

This site was created as a part of my final project for my Master's of Education degree in Curriculum and Instructional Technology from Iowa State University. In this portfolio, you will find a variety of examples that showcase a part of the growth I experienced as a graduate student in this program.

Education
I have a Master's of Education degree in Curriculum and Instructional Technology from Iowa State University. I have worked with many great professors and innovative educators throught this process. My experiences have translated to many positive changes in my classroom. I highly recommend this program to any educators interested in learning how to enhance student learning with the use of technology in the classroom.

My undergraduate work was also completed at Iowa State University. I received my Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences Education in December of 2006. I am licensed to teach High School Family and Consumer Sciences in Utah and Iowa.

Work Experience
I work as an Education Technology Specialist for Canyons School District. I serve Brighton High School and Union Middle School. I taught Family and Consumer Sciences for 9 years before transitioning into my current role. I have presented on Nearpod, Gamification in the Classroom, Video tools, and researched based LMS design at conferences. You can find many of these presentation materials on this site.

As a classroom teacher, I had 20 iPads that were used for various projects. We commonly use Nearpod for interactive notetaking and Canvas for our learning management system. Students use a variety of apps to support project based learning.
